Jordy Mercer Jams Finger, X-Rays Negative
7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates shortstop Jordy Mercer left Monday's game against the Minnesota Twins after jamming his right pinky while diving back into first base on a pickoff attempt. Mercer had X-rays after the game, and The Athletic's Rob Biertempfel reports the results were negative. He's considered day-to-day. Sean Rodriguez took over at shortstop after the injury occurred and is likely to continue manning the position until Mercer returns. Neither player is much of a factor in fantasy beyond deep and NL-only leagues.
