2 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Jorge Alfaro isn't starting on Tuesday for a matchup with the Seattle Mariners and right-hander Logan Gilbert. Alfaro is hitting .274 with a .310 on-base percentage, six home runs, and a stolen base in 168 plate appearances for San Diego this season. The Padres will start Austin Nola instead at catcher. In 213 plate appearances this season, the 32-year-old is batting .237 with a .305 on-base percentage, two home runs, and a stolen base. Nola is batting seventh against Gilbert and the Mariners.
