3 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Jorge Alfaro is on the bench on Tuesday for a matchup with the Cincinnati Reds and left-hander Reiver Sanmartin. Alfaro is hitting .214 with a .258 on-base percentage, a home run, and a stolen base in 31 plate appearances this season. Instead, it'll be Austin Nola starting behind the plate and batting leadoff. The 32-year-old is batting .229 with a .298 on-base percentage, a home run, and a stolen base in 57 plate appearances so far.
