2 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Jorge Alfaro is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs. Alfaro will get the day off after going 3-for-6 with a home run, double and three RBI in the team's 19-4 shellacking of the Cubs on Wednesday, and he's now hitting .355 (11-for-31) with three home runs and six RBI in eight June contests to raise his season line to .284/.322/.486 with an .808 OPS, five long balls, 16 RBI, 17 runs scored and one stolen base in 109 at-bats. His hot streak should earn him more starts over Austin Nola moving forward. Nola is behind the plate and hitting seventh on Thursday against Cubs right-hander Matt Swarmer. Nola is hitting just .228 on the year with one homer and 15 RBI in 168 plate appearances.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
