4 years agoMinnesota Twins second baseman/shortstop Jorge Polanco (ankle) is not in the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Cleveland Indians. Polanco was removed from the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Los Angeles Angels after he tweaked his right ankle. He reportedly injured it during the previous series versus the Oakland Athletics, though he was attempting to play through it. The injury is related to the issues that have led him to undergo surgery on his ankle in each of the last two offseasons, so expect the Twins to be extra careful with Polanco. He should be considered day-to-day, though it wouldn't be surprising to see him miss some time. Luis Arraez will get the start at second base.--Tim Capurso
