Jorge Polanco Picks Up Two Hits Friday
6 years agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Jorge Polanco went 2-for-4 with a run scored in his team's 4-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Friday. The Twins elevated Polanco to the leadoff spot for the second time this season with veteran Joe Mauer getting the day off. Polanco has operated as Minnesota's everyday shortstop since being reinstated from suspension back on July 2. Over 21 games, Polanco is hitting .282 with a .736 OPS, 13 runs, five RBI, and three steals. He will look for his first homer of the season on Saturday when he takes on Boston right-hander Rick Porcello. Polanco has one hit in six career at-bats against Porcello.
