3 years agoKansas City Royals designated hitter/outfielder Jorge Soler went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in a 5-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday. Soler reached base via a force out in the fourth inning and came around to score off of a Michael A. Taylor single in the same frame. The 29-year-old slugger has been a total bust this season for the Royals and fantasy managers alike. He's hitting just .183/.279/.309 with six home runs and 29 RBI over 262 at-bats. His power upside is tremendous so he's worth stashing in deeper leagues if you have the roster space available. He does have an entire second half to turn things around but he can't be counted on as a starter right now. It's starting to look like his breakout 2019 season was just an aberration.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
