Jose Abreu Extends On-Base Streak To 16
4 years agoChicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu went 2-for-4 with one RBI in Saturday's loss versus the Boston Red Sox. Abreu's double in the top of the first inning extended his on-base streak to 16 games, dating back to the 2020 season. Last year's American League MVP has been getting on base, but is only hitting .208 on the season with two home runs and 10 RBI. Despite getting being on base in every game this season, managers would like to see Abreu get some more hits. Managers shouldn't worry about the low batting with Abreu owning a career .293 batting average. Abreu remains one of the most consistent first baseman in the league and offers a strong batting average to go along with good power numbers.
