4 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve departed Thursday’s contest against Texas early after sliding hard into a bag during the first inning. Abraham Toro entered the game in his place, with Aledmys Diaz shifting over to the keystone. Following his hit Thursday, Altuve is now slashing .224/.284/.322 through his first 35 games, vastly far below any expectations that fantasy managers may have had for the former three-time batting champion. Combined with his performance in 2020, any stint on the injured list may zap Altuve of much of his remaining fantasy value. Check back for an injury update once one is provided.--Jesse Borek
