Jose Altuve Has Cooled Off At The Plate
4 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 2-for-5 with a home run and four runs batted in on Tuesday against the Rangers. The long-ball is Altuve's sixth in the month of June and is slugging .585 over his past 53 at-bats despite cooling off at the plate over the last week. The 31-year-old is 8-for-28 (.210) over his last eight games after a torrid stretch of offensive production. The lull at the plate should be temporary and Altuve is a fantastic fantasy play when he plays at Minute Maid Park. Through 28 home games, the veteran is slashing .309/.391/.536 with four doubles, seven home runs, 20 runs batted in and 20 runs scored.
