6 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve leads all hitters in baseball with 131 hits and is slashing .328/.392/.463 this season. Altuve is looking for his fifth straight season of 200-plus hits but currently is on pace for 197 this season. The 28-year-old has been in a small slump recently and is slashing only .254/.315/.358 through 67 at-bats in July. The reigning MVP has been the model of consistency the past few seasons and put together a fantastic second half in 2017. In 67 games after the All-Star break last season, Altuve slashed .344/.401/.543 with two triples, 11 homes runs, 14 doubles, 31 runs batted in and 50 runs scored. It is very possible that fantasy owners have not seen the best from Altuve yet this season.--Joey C - RotoBaller
