Jose Altuve On Track To Return Monday
3 years agoHouston Astros general manager James Click said that second baseman Jose Altuve (hamstring) will head to Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday and play a couple of rehab games with them before being activated from the injured list on Monday, barring any setbacks. Altuve went on the injured list on April 20 with a hamstring injury, but he's nearing a return for fantasy managers. Aledmys Diaz and Niko Goodrum have been filling in at the keystone with Altuve out, with Diaz seeing the majority of starts at second base. Altuve was off to a slow start before his injury -- six hits (one home run), 10 strikeouts in 41 plate appearances -- but the 31-year-old will return to the everyday starting job at second base next week.
