Jose Altuve Placed On Injured List

5 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day IL with a strained left hamstring that he aggravated in Friday's contest. He will be eligible to return on May 20th, and Aledmys Diaz will get the majority of the starts at second while Altuve is recovering. This is only the second injured stint for Altuve in his nine-year career. Hopefully this will get him back on his feet, fantasy-wise, as he had been in a slump following a good start to open the campaign. He has only seven hits in May with no home runs or steals. His last multi-hit game came on April 19th. This is the best buy-low opportunity on Altuve in a while, so check with his owner to see if he's unsure about the former top-five fantasy player's outlook.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
