Jose Bautista Signs With Mets
7 years agoAccording to MLB's Anthony DiComo, free-agent outfielder/third baseman Jose Bautista has signed a one-year Major League contract with the New York Mets. The Mets are currently in need of right-handed power and Bautista recently became available after being released by the Braves. Phillip Evans has been optioned to Triple-A immediately, so Bautista can play Tuesday night against the Marlins. Bautista was released by the Braves because he performed poorly, hitting a mere .143 with two home runs in 12 games. The former slugger will need to prove his worth before becoming fantasy relevant again.
