Jose Berrios Enduring Rough May
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios had a mediocre month of April, and things have only gotten worse in May. After putting up a 4.13 ERA in 24 April innings with two quality starts in five tries, Berrios has allowed 11 runs in 10 innings in May with only four strikeouts. All told, that adds up to a 5.82 ERA and 1.56 WHIP with 24 strikeouts in 34 innings. There isn't much reason for optimism in the underlying numbers, as he's in no higher that the fourth percentile in all of xwOBA, xERA, xBA, and xSLG. Fantasy managers face a tough decision on whether to hold or seek to recoup some value in the trade market on name recognition alone.
