3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios was excellent in Saturday's second game of a doubleheader, allowing one run over six innings pitched. The right-hander was saddled with a no-decision since the club lost 2-1 in extras, but it was a terrific start nonetheless. He struck out six batters with no walks while allowing five hits as the only damage came from an Alex Verdugo home run in the sixth. Berrios has now allowed just one run over 12 innings with a 13/1 K/BB in his first two starts with his new club, perhaps getting a mental boost now that he's thrown into a playoff race. He'll look to keep his momentum going in his next scheduled start versus the Mariners.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
