3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Jose Berrios recorded a quality start despite not factoring into the decision in Thursday's loss to the Cleveland Indians. Berrios pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks. He struck out nine batters and induced 12 swinging strikes, with at least three whiffs on three different pitches. The velocity on his pitches was down, though his curveball and fastball showed more vertical break than his season average. Berrios has produced three straight quality starts with at least six strikeouts in as many outings. He ranks among the top 35 starters in ERA and WHIP while ranking among the top 25 in K-BB percentage and SIERA. Berrios should continue to be a strong SP2 moving forward.--Tim Capurso
