2 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios struck out nine batters on Thursday as his club defeated the Yankees 9-2 from the Bronx. The right-hander allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk over 6 2/3 innings as he improved his record to 9-5 on the season. Berrios gave up both his runs in the third frame after he led the inning off with a walk, hit-by-pitch, and then a throwing error of his own, but thankfully he was able to limit the damage. Berrios has had his ups and downs in 2022 as he sits with a 5.39 ERA and 1.37 WHIP on the year, but managers will still want to roll him out in his next start versus the Red Sox next week.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
