Jose De Leon Strikes Out Eight In Spring Appearance
4 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Jose De Leon turned in a solid performance in a 9-3 Cactus League loss to the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. De Leon came on in relief and struck out eight batters in three innings of work while allowing two runs. He walked three and allowed two homers in the outing. De Leon has shown the ability to rack up strikeouts this spring, punching out 14 batters in eight innings of work. The former Los Angeles Dodger prospect is trying to win the fifth spot in the starting rotation this spring and has presented a good case. If De Leon doesn't land in the starting rotation, look for him to head to the bullpen for Cincy.
