3 years agoMiami Marlins shortstop Jose Devers (shoulder) is starting his minor league rehab assignment with Single-A Jupiter on Thursday. Once Devers is fully cleared, he's expected to be assigned to Triple-A Jacksonville. The 22-year-old is working his way back from season-ending right shoulder surgery last August. He could eventually be called up to the big-league roster later this year, but he'd probably only serve as a backup infielder for the Fish. Devers played in his first 21 major league games last year and finished with a .244/.304/.317 slash line with a .621 OPS, no home runs, five RBI and seven runs scored in 46 total plate appearances.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
