Jose Iglesias Inks One-Year Deal With Rockies
3 years agoThe Colorado Rockies and shortstop Jose Iglesias agreed to a one-year, $5 million contract, according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com. The news all but assures Colorado will not retain shortstop Trevor Story, who is currently a free agent. The 32-year-old Iglesias will join his sixth team after spending the 2021 season with the Angels. In L.A., the defense-first infielder shushed .271/.309/.391 with nine homers and five stolen bases. A move to Coors Field should boost his offensive numbers, but Iglesias still isn't a priority in standard-size fantasy leagues He's worth a flier as a late-round middle-infield option in deeper roto leagues where he can help in batting average.
