5 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Jose Leclerc allowed two runs in a third of an inning to blow a save vs the A's on Sunday. Leclerc faced six batters Sunday and allowed five to reach base including Khris Davis who drew a walk-off walk to end the game. Leclerc couldn't find the strike zone as he walked three batters in his first save chance since Shawn Kelley went on the injured list. Leclerc was the favorite for saves in the Rangers bullpen coming into the season but now has a 4.34 ERA with three blown saves against only five saves. His 11.1 percent walk rate is way too high to be pitching high leverage innings and it wouldn't be a surprise to see Chris Martin or Brett Martin get the call for the next save, though the closer to own in Texas will likely not be known until after the trade deadline.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
