5 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Jose Leclerc pitched a scoreless ninth inning in a tie ballgame Tuesday against the Rays. Leclerc struck out two and didn't allow a baserunner while being used in the traditional closer role pitching the top of the ninth in a tie game at home. Manager Chris Woodward has talked all year about getting Leclerc right in the closer job and seems to have done so. Leclerc has six saves since the start of August with 19 strikeouts across 14 innings and has been used as a traditional closer since the Rangers traded away Chris Martin at the deadline. Leclerc should be owned in all formats where saves are a category--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
