3 years agoThe Chicago Cubs have placed catcher Jose Lobaton (shoulder) on the 60-day injured list with a right shoulder sprain. Lobaton injured his shoulder when he went down hard running through first base in the bottom of the ninth inning on Tuesday. Lobaton was hitless in 11 at-bats this season. The Cubs are now onto their fifth backup catcher of the season with the club calling up catcher Taylor Gushue. Gushue will be making his big league debut when he enters a game. Gushue was having a productive season for Triple-A Iowa with a .272 batting average to go along with five home runs and 27 RBI. Catcher Willson Contreras remains the man behind the dish for the Cubs and Gushue can be avoided in all formats.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
