2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins optioned third baseman Jose Miranda to the minors to make space for shortstop Royce Lewis on Sunday. Miranda, the team's No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will head back to the farm after going only 11-for-67 (.164) with 14 strikeouts in his first 19 major league games. The 23-year-old will surely be back in Minnesota, but he could use more seasoning at Triple-A St. Paul. Lewis, the club's top prospect, is starting in center field and batting seventh on Sunday against Kansas City Royals right-hander Zack Greinke. The 22-year-old played shortstop, third base, left field and center field in the minors when he was sent down after Carlos Correa returned from the injured list. Lewis should fill a super-utility role for the Twins and was hitting .308 with two home runs and five RBI in 39 at-bats earlier this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
