Jose Peraza Goes Deep In Opener
6 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Jose Peraza went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in a 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Opening Day. Peraza, who will play second base instead of shortstop while Scooter Gennett heals from a groin injury, launched a seventh-inning Jameson Taillon offering over the fence as part of a four-run inning. Blessed with excellent speed and emerging power, Peraza has an outside shot at putting together a 20-steal, 20-homer season this year.
