4 years agoChicago Cubs left-handed pitcher Jose Quintana tossed three innings during a simulated game Tuesday and did not report back any issues with the left thumb that has kept him sidelined thus far in 2020. Manager David Ross noted that there was still no timeline for when Quintana would join the club, but it sounds as if his rehab is nearly complete. The Statcast metrics from last season back up the career-high 10.1 H/9 that Quintana yielded, although his FIP (3.80) was nearly a run lower than his ERA (4.69). With how long it has taken the veteran southpaw to get back on the hill at the big league level, owners may want to remain cautious when it comes to adding him in season-long formats.--Jesse Borek
