4 years agoChicago Cubs left-handed pitcher Jose Quintana will be shifting to the bullpen for the time being as soon as Tuesday behind starter Tyler Chatwood against Detroit. Quintana has not yet appeared in 2020 due to a thumb injury, while Chatwood will be making his return off of the injured list. With the Cubs having a full rotation, the move to shift Quintana to the bullpen (where he has made just four career appearances) essentially zaps him of season-long fantasy intrigue. While the closer’s job has not yet been nailed down, it’s difficult to see a path to closer’s duties for Quintana, particularly in the short term.--Jesse Borek
