4 years agoWashington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell went 1-for-4 with a home run in a 5-2 loss to the Cubs on Thursday. It was Bell's fifth homer of the year, as he is now slashing .176/.244/.361 over 30 games this year. Despite the poor season-line, Bell has begun to heat up in May, where he is slashing .236/.288/.455 with three home runs, 11 RBI and 10 runs scored. And while not ideal marks, Bell's .234 xBA and .413 xSLG suggest that he is in line for better days ahead. In deep mixed leagues and NL-only formats, Bell is worth looking at as a corner infield or utility option for managers trying to chase home runs.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
