4 years agoThe Minnesota Twins planned to give third baseman Josh Donaldson and outfielder Byron Buxton between 5-7 innings of action Monday while at the club’s alternate training site as both remain on the comeback trail. Manager Rocco Baldelli said that both players could have updates on their status in the near future. Donaldson has been out of the mix since July 31 due to a calf injury that the team has remained cautious about, while Buxton is dealing with inflammation in his left shoulder that has held him out since Aug. 19. Upon his activation, Donaldson will immediately become a must-roster season-long asset, while Buxton will need to show further development to merit consideration.--Jesse Borek
