7 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson continues to rehab from shoulder inflammation, and it sounds as if he’s truly nearing a return. Donaldson is set to play third base in a rehab game on Tuesday, and while there’s still no time frame for a return, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com speculates Donaldson could return on Friday in Tampa Bay for the opener of Toronto’s series with the Rays. This would be welcome news for fantasy owners, who have been without the services of the elite third baseman since April 11. Hopefully, Donaldson comes back healthier than ever and is ready to improve upon the meager .239/.352/.457 slash line he was putting up prior to hitting the disabled list.--John Smith
