6 years agoDon’t look now, but we officially have a sighting of the old Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson. In a 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels, the slumping third baseman finished 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored. The former American League MVP hadn’t picked up a hit in the four games prior to Tuesday, a skid that saw him go 0-for-13 with four strikeouts. Hopefully this is the start of good things to come for Donaldson, who just hasn’t been able to get going after a shoulder injury kept him out of action for nearly a month. He sits with a very un-Donaldson-like .224/.316/.431 slash line with only five home runs across 116 at-bats. If 2017 was any indication, though, Donaldson will catch fire at some point and carry fantasy squads for the rest of the year. Perhaps Tuesday’s effort was the start of that.--John Smith
