Josh Donaldson Likely Needs More Than 10 Days
7 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson has been on the 10-day disabled list since April 13 (retroactive to April 11) due to shoulder inflammation. While the injury wasn’t considered to be serious, he’s expected to need more than the 10-day minimum despite being able to come off the disabled list on Saturday. Donaldson has been shut down from any throwing since hitting the shelf, but testing did not reveal any injuries. Perhaps more worrisome, there’s also no timetable for his return. Yangervis Solarte has filled in more than admirable at the hot corner in Donaldson’s absence, so as of now, Toronto is in no rush to speed up his recovery. Missing significant time two years in a row certainly won’t help the 32-year-old’s upcoming free-agency case.
