Josh Donaldson Nearing Rehab Assignment
7 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson has been on the disabled list since April 13 (retroactive to April 11) due to inflammation in his right shoulder. He’s nearing his way back, however, and manager John Gibbons told the media on Tuesday that Donaldson could get into rehab games by the end of this week. The Blue Jays are expected to provide more detail on Wednesday, but either way, this is great news. The disabled list stint is a questionable one for Donaldson, who wasn’t diagnosed with any injuries other than inflammation and was comically throwing multiple hoppers to first base from his normal spot at the hot corner. Until he returns, Yangervis Solarte will continue to pick up the slack at third base for Toronto.
