2 years agoNew York Yankees third baseman Josh Donaldson is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the division-rival Boston Red Sox. Donaldson returned on Saturday from a minor hand injury, but he'll get a normal day off in the series finale to conclude the first half of the 2022 season. The 36-year-old veteran did have nine home runs, but otherwise it was a first half to forget, as he slashed .224/.310/.390 with 35 RBI, 30 runs scored and two stolen bases in 259 at-bats. DJ LeMahieu is starting at the hot corner and hitting leadoff, while Matt Carpenter serves as the designated hitter and bats fifth against Red Sox left-hander Chris Sale on Sunday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
