6 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson has struggled since returning from the disabled list in early May, and those difficulties continued for him on Thursday against the Oakland Athletics. Donaldson finished 0-for-4 with a walk and three strikeouts, lowering his batting average to a paltry .233. Donaldson had a huge first game when he returned from injury, but since then has slashed a terrible .196/.269/.283 with no home runs, four runs scored and three RBI across 52 plate appearances. There’s not much reason to panic at this point, though. Donaldson had a rough go of it in 2017 after his injury before a big summer hot streak.--John Smith
