6 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson (calf) has left the team’s facility in Dunedin, Florida, and is traveling up to Toronto to rejoin the big club. That certainly makes it sound as though Donaldson will be activated from the disabled list for the Blue Jays weekend series with the Washington Nationals, but as of now, there’s no confirmation of that. It’s always possible he finishes whatever testing he needs to complete at the Rogers Centre on Friday, with activation on Saturday, but that wouldn’t be our guess at this point. Donaldson has been out since May 28 with a calf injury, an issue that also plagued him during spring training. Assuming he’s healthy, he should absolutely improve upon his poor .234/.333/.423 slash line quickly. Check back for updates as to Donaldson’s potential activation on Friday. Either way, it's clear he'll be back in the lineup very soon.--John Smith
