Josh Hader Blows First Save, Rewarded With Win
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader went two innings giving up one hit, two earned runs, and one walk while striking out four in the 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hader came in for the eighth with a 3-1 lead and after walking Gregory Polanco, he allowed a two-run shot to Starling Marte that tied up the game. Despite the blown save, Hader was rewarded with the win as Ryan Braun ended up hitting a two-run double in the next inning. His elite strikeout ability was on full display once again as he now ups his K/9 ratio to 19.35 on the year. He now has a 1-0 record with a 1.80 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched and should be owned in all formats, even when Corey Knebel returns to closing duties.
