Josh Hader Locks Down Another Two-Inning Save; Looks To Be Closer
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader locked down his second save in as many appearances in the 2-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds. He went two innings and struck out three for the save. Hader was originally one of the pitchers in the Brewers bullpen who was almost guaranteed to not get save appearances, but it seems Brewers manager Craig Counsell has figured it out. In the last two appearances for Hader (where he recorded two saves), he came out to start the eighth inning. Hader's value as a middle-relief option is extremely valuable. Hader is now up to a 1.54 ERA in 11 2/3 innings pitched with a mind-boggling 25 strikeouts in that amount of time. With Hader as the possibility of being a closing pitcher until Corey Knebel gets back, he must be owned in all formats immediately.
