Josh Hader Makes The History Books In Save
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader went 2 2/3 innings pitched on Monday, giving up a walk while striking out eight in the 6-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Brewers manager Craig Counsell sent Hader out for two outs in the seventh and left him out there, which ended up being a good decision, as he struck out every single batter he received an out on. In terms of the history books, this was the first ever MLB appearance where a pitcher had eight strikeouts for all recorded outs as well as the shortest amount of innings pitched with eight strikeouts, with the previous record being three innings. It's pretty safe to say he's one of the most, if not the most, dominant reliever in the game right now, and his K/9 of 19.5 this season will make him valuable in all fantasy formats.
