7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates second baseman Josh Harrison (hand) will miss around six weeks of action after X-rays revealed a fractured left hand. Harrison was hit by a 95 mph fastball in Sunday's win over the Miami Marlins and left the game immediately. The 30-year-old was hitting .263/.328/.351 with a homer, five RBI and 12 runs scored at the time of his injury. This is the second straight year he's broken the same hand, as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Bill Brink pointed out, and the projected timetable will put Harrison's return at the beginning of June. Adam Frazier will take over the everyday duties at second base and will likely slide into the leadoff spot in the Pittsburgh lineup. As a solid source of batting average and runs, Frazier should also prove a viable replacement option for Harrison's fantasy owners.--Matt Wilkes
