2 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays optioned rookie outfielder Josh Lowe to Triple-A Durham on Sunday to make room for recently acquired outfielder David Peralta on the active MLB roster. In 52 games for the Rays since his promotion, Lowe hit only .221/.284/.343 with two home runs, 13 RBI, 24 runs scored, three stolen bases and 66 strikeouts in 198 plate appearances for the Rays. Whenever the 24-year-old returns to the big leagues, he'll return to a seven-game hitting streak. He'll need to cut down on his strikeout rate when he returns to the Rays if he wants to see regular playing time. Lowe will return to a .299/.382/.540 slash line with a .922 OPS, six home runs, 35 RBI, 22 runs scored and six stolen bases at Durham.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
