4 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Josh Naylor was optioned to the team’s alternate site Thursday. Taking a backseat in platoon duties to Edward Olivares and Abraham Almonte, the 23-year-old had gotten limited run, collecting three hits in just 14 plate appearances. Weak on defense and the Friars having plenty of DH options, Naylor was sacrificed along with starter Joey Lucchesi as rosters were cut to 28. Naylor may have another opportunity if injuries hit but his long-term viability in San Diego is looking shaky.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
