6 years agoOakland Athletics catcher Josh Phegley went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run and three RBI in Sunday's 7-1 victory against the visiting Seattle Mariners. The double was Phegley's sixth of the season, and the homer was his ninth, and most of his production has come out of the ninth spot in the order for manager Bob Melvin. Phegley is slashing .281/.326/.504, which is actually better than the likes of more heralded teammates like Matt Olson, Jurickson Profar, Marcus Semien, etc. Phegley has emerged as a decent fantasy backstop in AL-only leagues, and he is worth a look as a No. 2 option in deeper mixed formats at this point.--Daniel Dobish
