6 years agoOakland Athletics catcher Josh Phegley went 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI in Sunday's game against the Texas Rangers, hitting in his ninth consecutive game. It wasn't all great, as he also struck out three times. Phegley continues to hit out of the ninth spot for manager Bob Melvin, slashing .325/.341/.600, including 13-for-32 (.406) with three homers, 10 runs scored and nine RBI during his nine-game run. He should still be treated as an AL-only fantasy option at this point, but he might be worth a look as a No. 2 backstop in deeper mixed play if he continues to play regularly and hit for average.--Daniel Dobish
