5 years agoCincinnati Reds utility man Josh VanMeter and outfielder Jesse Winker are not in the starting lineup Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals. This is a routine day off for Winker, but this could be the new normal for VanMeter, who now has to battle Freddy Galvis for at-bats. VanMeter was already struggling to find consistent playing time, so fantasy owners who enjoyed his hot streak can start looking elsewhere if they haven't already. Galvis will man second and bat sixth while Phillip Ervin slots into left and bats fifth against struggling right-hander Michael Wacha. Ervin could be a sneaky good value play in DFS leagues.--Joseph Magazzinich
