4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks second baseman Josh VanMeter went 1-for-2 on Sunday, hitting his second home run of the spring in a 6-3 loss to the Giants. He accounted for all of Arizona's runs with his three-run blast to center field, as he homered for the second game in a row. VanMeter has shown himself to be a potential double-digit home run and stolen base threat in the minors, but has yet to reach that potential in the majors. He started the spring off 3-for-20 with a double and eight strikeouts, so barring a significant turnaround in the second half of this month he will likely start the year in the minors. If he gets called up later this season, he could be worth a look in deep, NL-only formats.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
