2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox announced that rookie right-hander Josh Winckowski will be recalled from Triple-A Worcester in order to make the start on Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Nathan Eovaldi (shoulder) could wind up on the injured list in a corresponding move after he was scratched from his start on Tuesday. Winckowski, 24, has gone 5-6 with a 5.19 ERA (5.22 FIP), 1.50 WHIP, 36 strikeouts and 21 walks in 60 2/3 innings in his first 12 major league starts for Boston this year. He could stick in the starting rotation for multiple turns if Eovaldi goes on the injured list, but Winckowski has been pretty unreliable for fantasy managers in his rookie season.
