4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher JT Brubaker struggled in his second straight start on Sunday, allowing seven runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings as he took the loss in a 7-1 defeat against the Braves. Brubaker had posted a 2.58 ERA and had not allowed more than three runs in a start over his first seven appearances, but now over his last two starts against Atlanta and St. Louis he has allowed 12 runs in 11 innings of work. Granted these two rough starts have come against some tough offenses, but that doesn't help managers out at all in their leagues. He'll look for better results in his next start against the Rockies, but if he struggles again in that matchup, managers will want to consider dropping him in shallower formats.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
