Juan Soto Out For Precautionary Reasons Monday
4 years agoWashington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto fouled a ball off his foot Sunday, thus postponing his planned spring debut Monday. There's no reason to push it, so even though Soto told manager Davey Martinez he feels fine, the team is waiting a couple days to send him out there. This incident is just a reminder of the sometimes random nature of baseball and has no effect whatsoever on Soto's value this draft season. With a 152 career wRC+ at age 22 and the ability to steal a few bases, he's a no-brainer first rounder.
